Electrification Masterclass for Visitor Economy

Project Overview

Orka Advisory was engaged by a local government body to deliver a 90-minute Electrification Masterclass for the Sustainable Destination Partnership, targeting hotels, venues, museums, and tourism operators. The aim was to accelerate fossil fuel phase-out and support net zero goals across the visitor economy.

Scope of Work

Masterclass Development and Delivery

Designed an interactive webinar with a slide deck and resource pack, focusing on electrifying existing buildings, particularly removing gas from DHW systems and kitchens.

Best Practice Case Studies

Showcased leading Australian electrification examples including Sydney Fish Market’s all-electric Seafood School, Powerhouse Parramatta’s fossil-free design, and Mercure hotels’ CO2 heat pump retrofits.

Stakeholder Consultation

Engaged SDP members and sector leaders to incorporate real-world insights and encourage knowledge sharing within the partnership.

The masterclass equipped tourism operators with clear pathways, tools, and examples to implement electrification projects.
